Superintendent
Seals Construction is currently seeking a Superintendent with experience on large commercial projects ($5+ million). This individual will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure quality and timely completion of the project.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site field administration, supervision and technical management of all construction operations, supervision of assistants, foremen, subcontractors and other construction-related personnel
- Manage scope of work
- Assist in development of detailed CPM Schedule
- Assist Project Manager in developing construction schedule and maintaining the schedule from project inception to completion
- Verify and approve employee timecards
- Complete the inspection request process
- Schedule and direct all inspections with city and state officials, government agencies and private agencies as required
- Coordinate and document punch-list completion in a timely
- Maintain all general condition costs
- Review and understand material budgets and negotiate purchase orders
- Review and understand equipment budgets and negotiate rental rates
- Develop a project site logistics plan
- Schedule trade and material deliveries
- Assist Project Manager and Estimator with bid process
- Produce and submit RFI Logs, daily reports, incident reports, safety reports
- Perform safety management responsibilities including planning, communicating, monitoring, enforcing and documenting all safety training and issues that may arise
- Provide leadership in the safety and accident prevention programs
Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of construction delivery systems, the construction administration processes, building trades, technical aspects of construction including means and methods, materials, building systems, planning, scheduling and estimating
- Prior experience as journeyman or foreman carpenter
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work assignments
- Extensive knowledge of construction principles/practices
- Experience directing and coordinating trade subcontractors, and field personnel
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Hearing and visual capabilities to safely handle the hazards encountered in the work environment
- Ability to lift heavy objects as encountered in the work environment
- Motor vehicle driving record that is consistent with Seals Construction’s and insurance carrier’s standards
- CPR and First Aid certified
- OSHA 10-hour safety training
- Proficiency in basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred but not required
- 10+ years of experience working on large commercial projects of $5 million and higher in a supervisory role
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering
- LEED accreditation
- Prior OSHPD project experience
- Prior DSA project experience
