The Science Labs and adjoining classroom at La Joya Middle School received a refreshing new look. Alterations to five science classrooms and prep areas spanning two buildings took place over a multi-phased schedule, adjusting for active student occupancy on campus during construction. New acid-resistant counter tops and laminate casework was installed in the classroom providing a bit of character to an otherwise outdated space. The laboratory polished concrete floors were stained with a cobalt and tan color scheme to compliment the bright cobalt blue doors, the epoxy counter tops and faux wood grain laminate cabinets. New energy efficient appliances were installed in the science prep room and a new fire sprinkler system was added to the buildings. In addition to the interior work, new HVAC units were installed in 7 different buildings throughout campus, providing an energy efficient space and creating a more comfortable environment as students learn.
