Hydrite Tank Farm

Long term chemical growth

The project included a foundation of 446.5 cubic yards of concrete with varying slopes throughout to accommodate the necessary grade for the 30,000 gallon chemical storage tanks. Seals Construction self-performed the concrete portion of the project and worked in concert with Collins Engineering over the course of 11 months to facilitate this 25,000 square foot outdoor expansion.

The Seals Construction team worked through the night to carry out a 7 hour concrete pour which began at 1AM. The early morning temperatures allowed for a more controlled environment for the concrete, as two pumps were running simultaneously to dispense the 446.5 cubic yards of concrete required for the foundation for the new tank farm.

Project Scope

  • Earthwork
  • Structural concrete
  • Tank pad & walls
  • Site utilities

One of the challenges of this project was the varying slope throughout the foundation to accommodate the necessary grade for the tanks.
